California’s Carbon Monoxide Detector Law will go into effect on July 1, 2011. Known as the silent killer; Carbon Monoxide poisoning kills as many as 500 people and is responsible for more than 20,000 emergency room visits in the United States each year. Approximately 40 of those deaths take place in California, according to the California Air Resources Board.
